International Women's Connection (IWC)
Welcome to the website of IWC Monterey!
IWC hopes to become a place of comfort, connection and creativity during your stay in the Monterey, CA area.
IWC is a new dedicated outreach of ISI, International Students, Inc., a global Christian friendship organization reaching out to international students. IWC seeks to include, care for, and encourage international women at all stages of life – from students and single, career-minded women to those with children and even grandchildren – to become all that God has for them to be. The IWC leadership team, consisting of several local Christian women, recognizes that women have specific needs that call for an outreach tailored just for them. IWC is the result.
We invite international women from all backgrounds and faiths to learn from and encourage one another, to grow personally in their varied roles, to discover new ideas and opportunities, and to forge a community that provides mutual support and love. And yes – to simply have fun!

Some of the opportunities we are beginning to offer are:
Cooking Sessions • Knitting Sessions • Crafting Sessions • Cross-Stitch Sessions • Small-group Tea & Chat Times • Outings – Hikes, Picnics, etc. • Outings – Movies, Plays & Performances • Small-group Bible Study • One-on-one Bible Study
We are truly just getting these going now, but as we move into the summer, many of these sessions and outings will happen on a monthly basis. Some will happen every other week. We hope to become consistent with such opportunities in the fall. If you are interested in learning about any of these and participating, please Contact Us and let us know! The pictures here show a group that gathered in March to make pies with IWC Leadership Team member and "resident chef" Heatherly Bucher at her home (top) and the work that Heatherly, Cong and Yungjung do kneading the dough for the pie crusts (below). The pies were yummy!
To the left is a recent small-group outing, a hike along a trail high above Monterey. "It was a sweet time with just a few women, very meaningful," notes Joyce, who led the group.
